Hello and Welcome! I’m Kristin, the creator behind Rhody Girl Resources. I am a classroom teacher, boy mom, gluten-free baker, and book lover. I love to collaborate, create, and learn.
I seem to bounce back and forth coast to coast with my teaching! I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education. I was fortunate enough to secure a job straight out of school and thoroughly enjoyed my three years of teaching in North Carolina. Next, I moved to Arizona, where I spent 10 years in the classroom and earned my Master’s degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. Most recently, I’ve returned to Rhode Island, where I’ve been teaching for 7 years.
My goal for this page is to interact and share. I am always looking for ideas and would love to connect and support others through freebies, blog posts, resources, Instagram, Facebook, and emails!
10 Fun Facts
1. I reside in the smallest state. I left for college and swore I would never come back… I couldn’t be happier that I returned
2. I was a competitive swimmer for 12 years.
3. I could eat ice cream every day! Peanut butter cup and mint are my favorites.
4. Pre-K to 2nd is my jam! Speaking in front of adults makes me a nervous wreck.
5. Leggings are a wardrobe staple of mine.
6. My first 2 years of college were in Marine Biology. 17/18 year old me wanted to swim with the orcas and dolphins.
7. The color turquoise makes my heart happy
8. Seven is my favorite number. Started that way playing softball in Little League.
9. Reading is a passion. I especially enjoy mysteries and have a goal to write a book myself one day.
10. I love babies, weddings, and taking pictures. Too bad I’m not very good with the camera, or that would be a fantastic job!
